JMESc journal employs a double-blind review process, in which each submitted manuscript is initially reviewed by an editor before being sent to independent (external) reviewers.

Authors are encouraged to suggest at least three potential reviewers, including their names, affiliations, areas of expertise, and email addresses. However, the final decision on suitable reviewers rests with the editor. The approved gallery proof of the manuscript will be made available online for early viewing as soon as it is received from the author and has undergone final proofreading by the Editor-in-Chief.
